Mechelen station - MST200

by

Commissioned by TM CIT Blaton - Artes Roegiers, Safe continues to build in Mechelen. After Safe has been involved in the realisation of the railway bypass and parking around the central station for years, it is now the turn of the station itself. The station in Mechelen dates from 1958 and no longer meets current standards; it is in need of a thorough overhaul.
In five successive phases over a period of eight years, 10 railway sidings and various floor slabs for, among other things, a bicycle shed and the underground bus lane will be built. The sidings, consisting of a lower slab, rail beams and indirectly a platform slab, each have a length of 100 metres. In the support structures to be built, Safe will provide a PVR for the various footbridges. Naturally, the station must remain in operation, despite the renovation work.
