Mobilis Anderlecht

A Belgian waffle of over 11,000 square metres

In the Brussels borough of Anderlecht, Alheembouw is building the garage of the future for the Volkswagen, Seat and Skoda brands on behalf of D'Ieteren Immo. Many different commercial and productive activitieswill soon take place here under oneroof on some 35,000m2. A brilliant project to which Safe proudly contributed!

For us, the job is now virtually finished. Over the past year, we have supported more than 11,000m2 of cast-in-place concrete beams with overlapping wide slabs, at heights ranging from 8 to 11 metres, spread over two floors. In appearance, they somewhat resemble a Belgian wafer. Since the insitu beams are all almost the same height, we realised a large formwork slab floor at the lower beam level. After the main contractor placed the structural edge boxes, the beams were pre-cast. Then the self-supporting, bi-directional wide slabs could be imposed from beam to beam. The wide slabs were thus supported indirectly, via the pre-cast concrete beams. After the floor was post-tensioned and the support removed, an impressive wafer floor was left behind.

In total, over 65,000m3 of support material was brought in. With this huge amount, both floors were made, partly by re-tensioning the floors after the concrete pour.
