Usawa coffee wins taste test!

by

These coffee beans have a story;

We at Safe are proud and happy that by buying these coffee beans, we are supporting several small-scale charities.
The "brand" of coffee beans is Usawa, Usawa means equality in Swahili, the language in East African countries.

Equality has been implemented by the coffee roastery in all facets of delivering freshly roasted coffee:
The coffee beans are organic and they pay a fair price to coffee farmers who work with respect for the earth
The beans are roasted in Gemert and packed by a day care centre , then brought in a deposit tin by a bakfietsservice. This way, we save more waste, are kinder to our environment and help the day care centre get "work".
The coffee grounds are collected, this is used to make special clothes (protective against the sun, for people with albinism)
Ultimately, the proceeds from the sale of the coffee go to the Josephat Torner Foundation Europe to give people with albinism a safe existence in African countries.
The owner of USAWA has adopted a child with albinism himself and has seen first-hand how terrible and difficult it is for people with albinism in African countries.
